“Biomarker discovery and validation using high throughput genomic methods”
Biomarkers that provide predictive, prognostic or diagnostic information for human diseases are constantly emerging. A key theme in biomarker research is that single biomarkers generally provide less information than groups of biomarkers, especially for heterogeneous diseases such as cancer. Finding appropriate sets of biomarkers through the integration of information from multiple high throughput platforms and novel mining approaches supports the development of novel clinical tools for improved patient care through personalized medicine approaches. |
