Breast Cancer Action

From the Kingston Whig Standard:
Despite looming dark clouds above Confederation Park Saturday, hundreds of people turned out to support local cancer research during Breast Cancer Action Kingston's annual fundraising event.
"Everything is local," said the organization's president Sue Davies. "Whatever is raised here, stays here."
Since it was started 20 years ago, the annual walk and community event has raised more than $250,000 toward breast cancer research at Queen's University and Kingston General Hospital.
It is the second year the event was held at Confederation Park, overlooking City Hall and the waterfront.
Sandip Sengupta, professor of pathology and oncology at Queen's University, also made a presentation about his research on patient care.
One-third of the money raised at the event will go toward breast cancer research, Davies said.
